Combination rice, AU$6.50: char siu (barbecue pork), hainan chicken and steamed choy sam on hainan chicken rice. I drizzled extra soy sauce over the chicken. This came with a bowl of hot clear chicken broth too. The chicken was boneless breast; I would’ve preferred dark meat on the bone, which has more flavour and is not as dry. I did enjoy the dish though, it was very tasty. I had a lot of trouble staying awake in the afternoon after lunch – I kept drifting into a garlicky, chickeny, porky, salty dream-like state.
