Early Valentine’s dinner

Last night, Jac and I went out for an early Valentine’s dinner.* We went to the Red Turban Indian Restaurant, which is at 1514 Albany Hwy, Cannington. We had their standard buffet for $23.90 per head. On Friday and Saturday nights they have a Grand Buffet for $28.90 a head. It was quite early when […]

Saturday brunch for everyone!

Jac had to pop into work for a short while this morning, and on her way home she stopped by a lunch bar and picked up some brunch for us. She got herself a super hot dog, which had a wiener, fried onions, bacon and cheese (which you can’t really see in the picture). I […]

Uh-oh, nerd break

Here are a couple of pictures of the new passive heatsink. Right now besides the pc case fans, I’ve got a desk fan pointed straight at the side of the pc blowing air through the side vent, and another fan at the front of the pc, blowing air into the intake holes. It’s been pretty […]

Friday night dinner

A favourite combination, fried SPAM and egg with rice and Heinz baked beans. I was craving the crunch of green beans, and so I quickly stir-fried some with garlic and light soy sauce. An easy meal to prepare when I’m feeling hungry but lazy – I can do this on automatic pilot now.

This is the second-largest burger on offer at the lunch bar. The biggest is “the one with the lot” which has …

In the past few weeks, it had begun to make loud, horrible noises (just like the original fan did), and it also started speeding […]

Roast dinner

Last night, Jac roasted lots of vegies for our dinner. She roasted whole onions, potatoes, carrots, butternut pumpkin, sweet potatoes and sweet corn on the cob. She served the roasted vegetables with roasted chicken thighs which she’d simply flavoured with salt and pepper, and a lovely hot pile of steamed buttered cabbage. She offered to [&he…

Stupid motherboard fan

I’m typing this short note on my laptop. I’ve had more dramas with that stupid, useless replacement motherboard chipset fan. Tomorrow, I shall be once again disassembling my computer and cursing a lot. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. So sorry, no food pics just yet.

Birthday breakfast

This morning, we went over to Jac’s mum’s place for Jac’s brother Brad’s birthday breakfast. We brought along our electric banquet frying pan and our aprons (incidentally, the aprons were made by Jac’s mum!) and got to work in the kitchen. Jac fried the many rashers of bacon in the electric fry pan, and fried [……
