An unexpected benefit of being the food pornographer
Recently, I received a lovely email from Jason, the marketing manager for the Red Turban Indian Restaurant. He’d read my post about Jac’s and my delicious Valentine’s dinner at the restaurant (click here to read it) and wanted to: 1) say thanks for my write-up, 2) ask if I’d agree to Red Turban using some of my text/photos in their marketing (with attribution back to this site, of course) and 3) tell me he’d like to send me a dinner voucher so Jac and I could return to Red Turban for another meal on them! How cool is that? It’s cool because it was just so unexpected, you know? I’ve always just written about places that have impressed us, restaurants, optometrists or whatever, because I think it’s good to spread the word about businesses that are doing the right thing.
My emailed reply and a phone conversation with Jason later (and Jac saying she was excited but would wait until we actually received the voucher before she got really excited), look what I picked up from my PO Box this morning:
Jac is now officially very excited! I am too! We shall be eating a sumptuous Indian Grand Buffet sometime soon. It really is, as the voucher says, “Brilliant Indian Food”. Butter chicken, I’m coming to get you!:-P And to my readers, the camera will be coming along too, of course!
