Caesar in September

Jac was in a cooking mood on Saturday night (which, of course, made me very happy!). As well as Venetian chicken soup, she also made caesar salad, with homemade croutons and shaved parmesan – YAY! We were actually out of cos lettuce, so Jac cheated and used a combination of iceberg and some of the Italian lettuce from our garden. It was fresh and crisp and just lovely. Here you see the salad served with a chicken drumstick on top (she saved the drumsticks from the BBQ chook that she used in the soup). I did make a pig of myself. As I sat in the lounge eating my caesar salad and watching the Saturday night footy, I felt a strange sense of deja vu. When had I done this before? After dinner, back in the study in my usual position in front of the computer I had a look through my old posts. Almost a year ago I watched the Friday night footy while eating caesar salad. Heheheheh. Caesar salad and footy on the telly on a weekend – fan-bloody-tastic.
