Friday lunch and dinner

Yet another photo of yet another uni lunch of yet another bowl of chicken noodle soup.

Chicken noodle soup

For dinner last night, Jac made a chicken and vegetable (carrots, green beans, green capsicum, spring onions) stir-fry. The sauce was a combination of hoisin sauce, soy sauce and chicken stock. The chicken was thigh pieces cut into chunks and fried with onion, garlic, white pepper and chinese rice wine. I ate it with rice as I watched the first preliminary final footy match. It would’ve been nice for the Dockers to get through to the Grand Final, and I was cheering for them (as was Jac). But I must admit I tipped Sydney to win. I thought it was a good match anyway, and Freo gave a good showing.

Chicken and vegetable stir-fry

We’re celebrating my dad’s birthday tomorrow, so hopefully there will be some good food photos coming up from that.

A few random bits and pieces:
An interesting theory: during the week when Jac and I went to the doctor, we ate pies for our breakfast at a Brumby’s store. The moment I bit into my chicken and vegetable pie I recognised the filling – it was the same as the filling in the Aroma chicken and vegetable pies I have at uni. Not a big deal, just something I noticed.

Someone sent me this link during the week: M&Ms find the “dark” movies. A little time-waster for the movie buffs out there, using flash.

For Australian residents: win a barbecue or a mushroom cookbook at the BBQ Mushrooms website.
