Family September birthdays dinner – the sweet

We didn’t have a birthday cake, but after the dinner dishes had been cleared, Juji brought out a tiramisu she’d made (one of Mark’s favourite desserts) – and we all sang happy birthday. Obviously we didn’t bother with candles!

The tiramisu was gorgeous. The coffee flavour was just perfect. I had intended to just have a bite of Jac’s, but after that first bite I just had to get some for myself! You know, I’m really chuffed with how the non-flash photos taken with my new camera have turned out – such as this one.

There was also a platter of fresh banana, pineapple and strawberries. The strawberries were surprisingly sweet. I do like strawberries, but often find them too sour on their own. These ones were great. I must say the sweetest strawberries I’ve ever had were from Albany, Jac’s boss brought us back some from his trip down South. They were the best – haven’t had any as good since.
