Once in a while on my way to work I like to grab fruit toast takeaway from Cino to Go (located next to the Subiaco train station) for breakfast. The bread they use is more like panettone than the usual fruit loaf, and it’s lovely. They pop a plastic knife and two little sachets of butter in with the toast, and by the time I get to the office the toast is still nice and warm, and the butter’s melted to a perfect softness for spreading. One sachet of butter per slice of toast. Buttered, warm, chewy thick slices of fruit toast – so simple, so good. But I don’t think two slices are quite enough.
