Nasi lemak

Jac got me takeaway nasi lemak from the International Food Hall in East Victoria Park, and I arranged it on a plate before photographing and eating it. The chicken drumstick was delicious, and so was the sambal, which had soaked through much of the rice. The ikan bilis (the little fried fish, with peanuts) was crunchy and salty and very good, and the cucumber was fresh and surprisingly crisp despite having been in a takeaway container with the rest of the food. I really missed egg though – I’m used to eating nasi lemak with egg, whether it’s a piece of omelette, a fried egg or hard-boiled egg.
