Pizzas from Pink Pepper, East Perth

“..there is no aspect, no facet, no moment of life that can’t be improved with pizza.” Daria Morgendorffer

I have a nice group of friends at work. We work hard together, often in highly stressful situations. We eat lunch together. We rant, vent and laugh together.

On this particular day, we voted for pizza for lunch. Workmate J2 collected the money and placed our order over the phone. Then at noon, she and I walked to Pink Pepper to collect our pizzas.

We got a selection of lunch special pizzas for one, which were sliced into quarters, and three larger pizzas which were sliced into six. Plenty to go around!

The vegetarian pizza was topped with fresh tomato, mushroom, roasted red capsicum, red onion, grilled zucchini and crumbled feta.

The margarita was the classic plain Jane of pizzas, topped with fresh tomato and cheese.

The Aussie was tasty, with fresh tomato, cheese and bacon slices.

The Diablo (as I recall the name; I may be wrong) was topped with jalapenos, pepperoni, chilli sauce, red onion and cheese. It had a nice bite to it without being too spicy.

The ham and pineapple was topped with strips of ham and sweet pineapple chunks.

The meatlovers featured pepperoni, bacon and a light sprinkling of ham. Could’ve been even more meaty, I reckon.

We ended up cutting the slices in into even smaller pieces so we could each have a taste of all the pizzas without needing to eat six whole slices.

It was a great lunch that left us nicely full with several slices left over. Workmate C and I worked late that night and ate another slice each before we went home. I took the last couple of slices home, so nothing was wasted.

My favourites out of this batch: vegetarian (yes, really!) and Aussie – bacon, like pizza, is a magical mood enhancer! The fresh tomato on the Aussie was a winner.

Friends really cheer you up when you’re having a bad day at work. And pizza definitely helps too (Daria was right!).

What’s your “having a bad day” lunch or favourite group lunch with workmates and/or friends?
