Noodles for lunch

Another day, another Design Your Own Noodlebox! It’s been the same design every time in the past few weeks: thick egg noodles with chicken, tofu, egg, bok choy and fish cake, stir-fried in oyster sauce. I’ve been getting the regular (big) sized noodle box – it’s a hefty deliciously satisfying feed! Workmate J got herself [&h…

Another chicken schnitzel burger

A work lunch, chicken schnitzel burger from 88 Royal lunch bar (88a Royal St, East Perth). A deep-fried crispy chicken schnitzel, lettuce and mayonnaise in a bun. The burger is wrapped in paper and put in a paper bag that smells wonderful and feels toasty warm in my hands as I walk back to the […]

A simple meal: BBQ chicken bought from the supermarket (I had the thigh and drumstick, of course), baked beans and freshly cooked rice. My supermarket BBQ chook gripe You know something I dislike about those BBQ chooks you buy from the supermarket? Sometimes the drumsticks have been tied together using a rubber band. I really […]

Brunch at the shops

A quick food hall brunch while we were at the shops! Jac had prawn rice paper rolls from Spices. I tried the organic chicken and corn soup from Sumo Salad. The soup was loaded with corn and full of chicken, and it was not overly loaded with cornflour like chicken and corn soup sometimes is. […]

Packing up the house – a takeaway and junk food post

While we were packing up the house so it could be painted, things were pretty hectic. Neither of us took time off work – I couldn’t, anyway – I’d resigned from my job and had four weeks notice to work through, so no way was I going to ask for any favours. Believe me, we […]

Work food, an afternoon tea – and my news about work

Work lunchesFirst, let me bombard you with food! The special of the day, chicken schnitzel and chips. There was more cheese on my schnitzel originally, but the guy who was served just before me ordered the same thing and when his schnitzel was lifted off my schnitzel, it took half my schnitzel’s cheese with it […]
