Short stories: Dosukoi, Allendale Square
The wall-to-wall shelves of comic books make a striking sight in this otherwise run-of-the-mill city arcade.
Ramen devotees no doubt know all about Dosukoi Japanese Noodle Bar from Fremantle Markets, touted by many as the best ramen in Perth. There’s a new Dosukoi in Allendale Square (77 St George’s Terrace), opened just a couple of weeks ago with a menu featuring 9 ramen dishes all for less than AU$10, located where Perth Asian Kitchen (P.A.K.) used to be. I’m a little sad that P.A.K. is no more – their spicy tofu and rice had just become my favourite takeaway lunch. There are more tables available in the food court, but you’ll need to rock up early or well after the lunch rush to grab one of the coveted nine seats facing the Japanese and English comic books – feel free to choose something to read as you slurp on your ramen.
Do you have a favourite ramen?

Short stories: a new experiment
Short stories will be short posts featuring 1-2 pictures maximum, sometimes old, sometimes new; sometimes people, sometimes food; the story or thoughts behind the picture(s) and reflections on the photography. I’ll still blog more detailed posts at least twice a week.
