Sausages and egg

Worked at home today. Fried up some pork sausages and had a couple for my lunch with a chinese omelette (chinese because it’s got soy sauce and white pepper beat into the eggs before frying). A very proteiny lunch.

Pork sausages, omelette ans sauce

The plumber came over and changed four sets of taps and fixed the loo. We’ve needed this work to be done for sometime now, and I guess having VR staying over gave us motivation to get stuff fixed. So no more leaky toilet that continuously hisses and dribbles, no more leaky shower and no more perpetually dripping kitchen tap. No more split kitchen taps with electrician’s tape wrapped around them (our shonky home repair job). We’ve had buckets under the drips and have been pouring the collected water on the pot plants out the front, but it is so nice to look at the sink/shower without a bucket sitting there. That’s the good part. The bad part is that we are feeling somewhat poor now (not a grand, but close enough :-(). But it had to be done. Better now than waiting for things to reach crisis point. The new taps are chrome and look pretty good. Nothing fancy, just functional. Unremarkable. Which is good. The plumber showed us the taps before installing and asked if we’d be happy with them, and I replied, “Mate, I’m not fussed as long as they don’t look like they’ve come from the Liberace House of Crap” (He thought that was pretty funny. Anyone remember which TV sitcom that comes from?)
