Bento-style Wednesday

This was lunch on Wednesday last week.

Jac didn’t need lunch, so I used the Tupperware large Sandwich Keeper myself this time. I packed some salad and some ham and pineapple fried rice. And for something sweet, a mandarin and mini jam sandwiches.

It wasn’t so practical bringing fried rice to work in this particular container, as I had to put the rice into a different container to microwave it. It wasn’t a big problem, as I have a bowl in my desk drawer which I used for the zapping.

I loved my mini strawberry jam sandwiches. I used soft white bread and cut off the crusts. I spread some margarine on the sandwiches before the jam – I would’ve used butter but it was a little too hard and I would’ve dug holes in the bread in the process. I think my workmates quite liked the look of the little sandwiches too!

Have you noticed that with all the lunches I’ve packed I always include a nice big fresh salad? I like eating it without any dressing. I may experiment with more cooked vegetable dishes, but salads are so convenient (and of course healthy).
