We finally tried the box of Japanese golden curry mix I bought ages ago – this was the “medium” curry mix which, incidentally, tasted pretty mild :). Jac made chicken curry with it, with potatoes, onions and carrots. She didn’t crumb the chicken a la Japanese chicken katsu curry (see First taste of Japanese curry), she used boneless skinless thigh pieces – they turned out beautifully tender. Although it wasn’t spicy-hot, the curry flavour was just “wonderfully curry”! I liked this so much that I had the leftovers for breakfast the next morning. I love curry and rice for breakfast.
