Bleeeeeargh

Poor Jac has been sick overnight and for most of today. It must’ve been around 4am when, still in bed all dopey and half-asleep, I thought I heard the sound of someone being violently ill in the loo. Unfortunately, it was not a dream, and someone had indeed been sick in the loo. Jac’s been suffering with a tummy ache, nausea and vomiting – she hasn’t been able to keep any food down all day. Don’t worry, I’ve made sure she’s had lots of fluids, which thankfully she hasn’t chucked up. Initially she thought she must’ve gotten sick from the leftover chinese takeaway we had for dinner last night, but I ate the same food and have had no problems (but having said that, we could probably leave my dinner sitting out in the street for an afternoon, and I could probably eat it and have no problems whatsoever – but having said that, noooo, I won’t be trying that out any time soon :)). Jac didn’t want to go to the doctor, so I went to the chemist and got her some medication for the tummy upset and ache. She spent most of the day sleeping; the cats were just thrilled to have someone to snooze with all day in the bedroom. She seems a lot better now, which is good – we’re supposed to be picking up a friend from the airport this morning at 2-something AM. The interesting thing about this friend is she’s actually an ex-girlfriend of Jac’s – Jac is friends with most of her exes. I’ve never met this ex before (I’ve met others though! :)), but I’ve spoken to her on the phone and she seems pretty nice. She’s coming to stay for a few weeks, which is why we finally got motivated to get the new bookshelves, so she wouldn’t be killed by stacks of books falling on top of her in the spare room.

Anyway, I’d better go and check what else needs to be done to get the house ready for our guest. I will try to post yesterday’s food asap. I’ve been running a little behind today, in between being chambermaid, nurse, student, glutton and cricket fan.
