…hainan chicken rice (AU$6.60)! I poured soy sauce over the top before digging in. Note – no gingery garlicky chilli sauce. But you know what? Apart from noticing its absence (mainly because of the missing splash of orange colour on the plate), I didn’t really miss its flavour at all. The chicken rice is so delicious and garlicky I’m quite happy to enjoy it with the soy sauce. I enjoy the rice even more than the chicken, which says a lot, as you know how much I love chicken.

The chicken broth was good – though I was a little over-enthusiastic and burned my tongue with my first mouthful.
