I’d like to draw your attention to a comment someone called “You’re Kidding Me” wrote in response to my Melbourne Cup Day post:
You’re kidding me, right? Do spare a thought for the poor horses – for every one race horse you see, three get euthanised because they just didn’t make it. When the horses retire, they almost-immediately become unwanted and often-times are sold to overseas butchers as gourmet meat (especially to Japan and France – where horse is a delicacy).
I am glad you won on M. Diva. But the poor horse has a stomache-ful of ulcers, an assortment of joint and muscle problems and probably will be in pain for the rest of her life.
All so that you could win that $18 lousy bucks.
How do you guys (especially those of you who wrote about the Melbourne Cup on your blogs) respond to that?
