Another birthday card
I took a break from the thesis this arvo and took a walk to the shops so I could check my PO Box for mail. Yes! There was something in there. My sister CherryRipe and her hubby Mister had sent me a card and a David Jones gift card. (More shopping coming up – woohoo!). According to CherryRipe’s note in the card, “Mister is the one with the handbag”! Hahahahaaaa. Cat cards are so cute! (Sorry about the flash reflection in the bar. I could’ve scanned the card, but was too lazy.)
As I walked past Target, I couldn’t help noticing that they were having a 15% storewide sale (started on Monday the 3rd of April, ends tomorrow, the 5th). I just had to have a look for bargains. I ended up buying Legally Blonde 1 and 2 (the 2 movie DVD set) (which was marked down from $26.95 to $19.95, discounted by 15% to $16.95) for Jac, The Brady Bunch Movie, which was only $8.45 with the 15% discount (this DVD was for me – I’ve been meaning to buy this particular movie for sometime), a pack of Officeworks A4 printing paper for $4.25 and my best buy of all, Simple Chinese Cooking by Kylie Kwong, marked down from RRP $59.95 to $39.95 – with the 15% discount I ended up paying an unbelievable $33.95 for it! I know I go on and on about bargains, but what can I say, I like value for money shopping. Maybe someday if I get richer bargains will cease to excite me to such a degree.
Today, the latest Boffins e-Newsletter appeared in my Inbox, announcing that Kylie Kwong book will be at their store on Hay St next Tuesday from 12-1pm to sign copies of her latest book. Hmmmm. Maybe if I can spare the time I’ll take my new book along for her to sign.
