Long blinks = “It’s sleep time!”

I’m listening to the new Dixie Chicks album, Taking the Long Way. Jac was a Dixie Chicks fan way way before I was. But they have really grown on me. I listen to them all the time when I’m working at my desk in the office at uni and often have to fight the urge to sing along (not a good idea in a shared, open-plan office). Class today was fantastic! I raced to catch an earlier-than-my-usual bus afterwards and got into town this evening ten minutes before the shops shut. I bolted first into Dymocks to pick up The Night Watch by Sarah Waters (which I will begin reading on the train tomorrow), and then a few doors down to JB to grab the Dixie Chicks cd. Bonus: JB in town is having a 10% off all DVDs and CDs sale this week.

I’m really tired and need sleep, so I’d better keep this short.

This was last night’s dinner, cooked by Jac: butter chicken, spinach, corn kernels and rice. The butter chicken was made using boneless, skinless thigh filets and butter chicken sauce from a jar. The fresh spinach was steamed. I really really love spinach! The corn kernels were sweet and satisfyingly bursty when bitten. Another delicious -tasting and -textured meal.

I don’t really have the energy to write much at the moment, but I hope to post more tomorrow evening (I have more pictures, taken today – I’m all out of sync). Tomorrow will be a busy day: an 8:30am meeting with my supervisor, more work on the next chunk of thesis, and of course teaching class and student consultation time in the afternoon. Right now it’s time for bed. Hopefully there will be no more dreaming of shifting paragraphs tonight. Maybe I should gaze at a picture of something for inspiration: Angelina Jolie, Jodie Foster or KFC (Hah!).
