Last weekend’s two brunches

It’s been waaaaay too long since I last posted, and I do apologise. It’s been a very busy week at work and at home. Here’s a plate of char kway teow I ate for brunch last weekend while at the shops. It was very tasty indeed, freshly cooked, garlicky and saucy and loaded with lup cheong (chinese sausage), prawns and chicken. The bad thing about eating this when out shopping alone is I don’t have anyone to ask: “Do I have sauce on my chin and in the corners of my mouth?” (I am especially prone to saucy mouth-corners) and then, after much self-wiping and licking, “Is it all gone now?” (Obviously sitting in a food hall there are lots of people to ask, but I don’t know any of them and I’m not really the sort to solicit advice from strangers in non-life-threatening situations). :) Yeah, yeah… next time, bring a mirror. *snort*

Char kway teow

When I got home from the shops, Jac was just about to cook her brunch of grilled cheese on toast. She’d assembled two varieties – grilled cheese with sliced tomato and grilled cheese with mustard. As it so happened, I’d bought some honey-glazed ham at Woolies and Jac wasted no time in adding a few slices of it to the cheese and mustard toast before grilling. Mmmm, it looked and smelled so good I kind of wished my tummy wasn’t already so full of char kway teow.

Grilled cheese

When Jac saw these grilled cheese photos she said “Hmmm, it looks like they’ve been run over” but I reckon they look delicious. Hahaha.
