First Big Mac in over ten years
Jac had to go into work for a few hours last Sunday. Before she came home, she gave me a call and asked if I’d like her to grab me anything to eat on her way back.
I asked for a Big Mac meal (burger, fries and Diet Coke).
You know, it’s been over ten years since I ate a Big Mac. I know this because I distinctly remember the last time I ate one – I was still doing my undergraduate degree at university.
It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a McDonald’s burger as much as I did this Big Mac. I couldn’t get enough of that mustardy Big Mac Special Sauce and that melty orange cheese. I’d forgotten how satisfying it is to bite into a double decker burger. I’m not claiming the Big Mac is the best burger by any means, but those layers of chewy burger bun and beef really make it a pleasure to look at, to hold, and of course, eat. Where else can I get a double decker burger (not merely double meat, but with that layer of middle bun)? Is that a uniquely McDonald’s thing?
