Photo of the day: Welcome home

I didn’t mention it online this time around, but Jac’s been away on a road trip with a mate for the past two weeks. They took the kayaks and fishing gear and drove up north – their itinerary included stops at Dongara, Geraldton, Northampton, Denham, Monkey Mia, Carnarvon, Yardie Creek, Exmouth and Ningaloo Reef, where they snorkeled and swam with majestic whale sharks and turtles and saw humpback whales. On their drive back to Perth yesterday, they stopped off at Toodyay and watched the power boats and paddlers coming through for the Avon Descent, then stopped off in the Swan Valley for nougat, nuts and cheese. They got home late afternoon, tired from their adventures and all the driving. This was dinner last night, enjoyed with many travel stories. The blue cheese went beautifully with the quince paste (the mysterious dark blob) – a gift from Valentine and Karen from Goan Cuisine. In the bottom right corner are delicious chunks of smoked mackerel that came home in the ice box all the way from Carnarvon.
