End of week food

I’ve been watching Season 1 of Beverly Hills 90210 on dvd today. I used to love this show, and today I realised I still do. It’s kind of embarrassing for me to admit, but I like Jason Priestley’s hair. Yeah, really. Let us now move onto the food.

On Thursday night I had a large barbecue combination for dinner. Large means four different meats.

Clockwise, starting from the top left: Barbecue pork, roast duck, roast pork, herb chicken.

I worked at home on Friday. I woke up with a terrible craving for vegies stir-fried with oyster sauce. So before I did any work I got busy in the kitchen – Jac left for work as I was stir-frying green beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions and three cloves of garlic with oyster sauce and dark soy sauce. I stir-fried enough for two meals so I could have more for lunch too.

And so for breakfast, I ate my stir-fried vegies with my large barbecue combination leftovers. Mmmm.

On Friday night Jac brought home some a selection of takeaway asian food for dinner. We had curry puffs and corned beef patties…

and hokkien mee (really saucy with lots of stuff in it)…

and lamb madras (lovely flavour, but not enough meat!)…

and chicken satay. I had a little bit of everything on my plate. Delicious! This all came from Spencer Village, by the way. I actually wanted chee cheong fun from Fook Kee, but the stall was closed – no sign or note or anything. Hope everything is ok with them.
