Last Sunday night

Very simple – stir-fried chicken and vegies, flavoured with Asia At Home brand szechuan stir-fry sauce, served on rice.

Also very simple – a selection of fruits for sweets. In the photo between the banana and dried apricots (which are next to the apple slices) you’ll see a little dark pile of prunes… lovely moist, juicy, soft prunes. I’ve recently rediscovered prunes after many years of not eating them – somehow, for no reason whatsoever, I’d just stopped eating them. Certain foods that I loved as a child have remained constant in my life, especially rice, Heinz tinned baked beans and SPAM… but prunes just disappeared from my diet. But now they’re most definitely back, and I have become completely obsessed by them. It’s funny how many of my favourite foods are kind of embarrassing ones – tinned baked beans, SPAM, and prunes. Hah. Anyway, Jac and I shared this platter of (clockwise from the banana), prunes, dried apricots, red apple, dates, strawberries. Yum.
