Another Friday Night

Last night’s dinner was takeaway from Spencer Village, YAY! I’d already given Jac my requests in the morning. I asked for two things, from our favourite stall which is called Fook Kee. First, yong tau foo. Here it is, in its silver takeaway container, before I added extra hoisin sauce: As usual, I had to […]

An unexpected benefit of being the food pornographer

Recently, I received a lovely email from Jason, the marketing manager for the Red Turban Indian Restaurant. He’d read my post about Jac’s and my delicious Valentine’s dinner at the restaurant (click here to read it) and wanted to: 1) say thanks for my write-up, 2) ask if I’d agree to Red Turban using some […]

A pizza sauce intrigue

I meant to post this a little while ago but got distracted by other food photos (which can happen when you’re a food pornographer). This was a Supreme pizza we ordered from Dominos. We also ordered the BBQ Chicken and Bacon pizza at the same time. As I ate a slice of Supreme I said […]

Two dinners and naughty Pixel (again!)

Tuesday night’s dinner: hoisin chicken and vegetable stir-fry. The sauce consisted of hoisin sauce, soy sauce and chilli sauce (the chilli sauce was a garlicky one leftover from our last trip to Spencer Village). The chicken was boneless skinless thighs. The vegetables were onion, garlic, cauliflower, carrot, broccoli and mushroom. Tasty tast…

And a recent junky lunch, of KFC Original Recipe chicken (my favourite two pieces to have, a drumstick and a thigh), soggy chips (as usual) and […]

Jac’s french chicken recipe

Maile asked me for the recipe for the creamy chicken with mushrooms that Jac made recently. Sorry it took so long, but finally I got her to recall what she did (remember, she just made it up to use the leftover cream – there was no actual recipe). So here goes. Amounts, times etc. are […]

More curry

Last week, Jac made a Thai green chicken curry with onions, sugar snap peas and baby corn. I really like zucchini in my green curry, but we didn’t have any :-(. She used a jar of Asia At Home Thai green curry paste. Really easy and delicious. I have to work on my chapter today. […]

Another good day for curry

Lunch today at uni was steamed rice with chicken curry and vegetable curry. The vegetable curry had yummy pieces of fried tofu in it, which I really enjoyed. The chicken curry was tasty as usual. As you can see, I had lots of curry gravy on the rice too. I have half a chapter I’m […]

Dinner at The Witch’s Cauldron -The Sweet

Pattycakes loves sweets, and we encouraged her to order whichever dessert took her fancy. She ordered the banana and passionfruit crepes. They came with a plump strawberry garnish and a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream. I had a mouthful – it was beautiful! Really REALLY sweet and passionfruity-bananary. Jac ordered the trio of […]
