This was my dinner on the day Jac had her surgery: fish and chips and a banana fritter – delicious as usual, from our local fish and chippie. I tried not to worry or think too much about the surgery, but it was difficult not to, even with these deep fried goodies flooding my senses.

Dinner tonight was panfried fish (coated in wholemeal flour and lemon pepper), ovenfried chips and homemade coleslaw. The fish is sitting on a bed of spinach leaves, which I ate. Tomorrow it’s back to the chapter. How can one chapter be so difficult to write?!
