Fancy sandwich bento

I wasn’t able to make it to a barbecue with Jac’s family recently, but Jac’s brother Brad (remember the Christmas BBQ meats whisperer? :)) and his fiancee Kelsie sent Jac home with a little alfoil package for me – inside, half a dozen chilli and garlic prawns. They smelled wonderful, and I ate one cold, […]

Return of Christmas turkey

I wrote this post a few weeks ago and didn’t publish it (no particular reason, just didn’t!). Jac cooked a casserole in the electric frypan we got from my parents for Christmas – she used Christmas turkey thigh roll, retrieved from the freezer, thawed and cut into cubes. She added vegetables – carrots, celery, green [&hellip…

Sliced turkey roast on Maggi two-minute noodles

I loved having that chunk of leftover turkey thigh roast in the fridge after Christmas. This was a very simple dinner I whipped up for myself: slices of turkey thigh roast, microwaved until popping hot, served on Maggi two minute noodles (minus the broth). So simple (and yes, lacking greens!) but very very tasty.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

It’s Christmas eve. I have to go to work today, and then have the next four days off (Christmas, Boxing Day, weekend). Most of the food outlets I normally grab lunch from are closed for the festive season, so for lunch today, I’ve packed leftovers – turkey minchee*, rice, a KFC Original Recipe drumstick, KFC […]

Saturday food

Breakfast last Saturday: bacon, buttery scrambled eggs, panfried potato and tinned spaghetti. Lunch last Saturday: clockwise from the crackers – cold turkey breast, sweet gherkin pickles, sliced fresh mushrooms, carrot sticks, homegrown cherry tomatoes, seedless red grapes. In the centre, Kraft light French onion dip, which I dipped the carro…

Turkey SPAM fried rice

Having cracked open the tin of turkey SPAM, I just had to use some in fried rice with onion, garlic, crunchy green beans and egg. I flavoured the rice with tamari and black pepper. I don’t think my cooking would ever impress anyone, but I always enjoy eating what I’ve cooked. This to me was […]
