No story, just a fry-up

A fry-up for Sunday morning breakfast is always welcome. Fried eggs, bacon, tomatoes and garlic mushrooms. This was my plate, with all the pan-roasted garlic. Jac knows how much I love garlic (you guys know too, by now!). As you can see, I like freshly cracked black pepper on my tomatoes and eggs. The mandatory […]

Breakfast with Cellobella

As I mentioned recently, I was interviewed by Cellobella recently over breakfast at the Subiaco Hotel last Saturday. Over the time I’ve been blogging, I’ve met and become good mates with a few bloggers – funnily enough (you’ll probably not be at all surprised), we always met up over a meal! Prior to the event […]

NSW Holiday 2007-2008 – Day 8

Back in early December when we talked about what we wanted to do on our holiday, Jac suggested we spend a weekend in Newcastle, since I’ve never been there. Although we were both really looking forward to spending time with the girls at Nelson Bay, the idea of going off on our own for a […]

Sunday breakfast

So far I prefer not to use the Food scene setting on my new camera when taking food photos. Here’s this morning’s breakfast, taken using Macro mode, ISO 200 with flash set to OFF. I think it will take much more experimenting before I know exactly what I’m doing. For our breaky this morning, Jac […]

Wednesday work food Part 1 – breakfast

I had a course to attend in Perth on Wednesday morning and decided to go into the city earlier and grab some breakfast. And so, just after 7:00am I wandered around town looking for somewhere I could sit for an hour or so, have a full cooked breakfast and read my book. I like a […]

Sometimes you get a bad tomato and you just don’t care

Yesterday morning we grabbed breakfast while out at the shops. We were at the shops pretty early – around 8:30am, and consequently not all food outlets were open. We decided to eat at The Cuckoo Chef again (see my write-up at Eating WA from last year: “We Love Burgers For Breakfast”). This time we went […]

Sunday breakfast yet again

Oh yeah, and on Sunday morning before Jac began her gardening and I began working on the computer, this was our fuel: sausages, eggs, garlic mushrooms and tomato. The sausages were “heart smart” ones – they had less fat in them than normal sausages. As a result of this, they taste extremely meaty i.e. especially […]

Sunday breakfast

And today’s breaky: sausages, garlic mushrooms (yep, panfried with chunks of fresh garlic), two fried eggs (with cracked black pepper) and a plop of smokey barbecue sauce right in the centre. Jac added the parsley garnish for the photo. Looks good, hey? :) And happy birthday to jl! That’s it for now.

DCX Weekend: Breakfast at The Witch’s Cauldron

On Saturday morning, we continued our DCX Weekend of Indulgence and caught the train to have breakfast at The Witch’s Cauldron in Subiaco. As soon as we were seated, a waiter brought us each a glass of complimentary homemade lemonade and poured us glasses of water (that was very good; we always like having water […]

The thesis hermit

On Sunday Jac cooked us a yummy breakfast of fried eggs, bacon and mushrooms fried in butter. After breakfast she got ready to go out – she was off to Mandurah for a wedding party (long story short: a mate went to Japan 4 years ago to work and married a Japanese woman over there. […]
